Masking Techniques
by Heather Telford;
SUPPLIES and TECHNIQUE; Flourish Birthday 4071F, Dreamy 40-102. Heather masked a vertical panel with post-it notes. The sky is sponged working from dark to light and then a torn post-it was posititoned to mask the sky so the hill could be sponged. The image and sentiment were added after the masks are removed.
by Cathy Andronicou;
SUPPLIES and TECHNIQUE: Free Flight 30-117, Inspiring 40-113. Cathy used masking to create clear spaces on acetate for the frame center and sentiment.
by Jenyfur Pohl;

SUPPLIES and TECHNIQUE: Free Flight 30-117. I punched a square into cardstock and used it as a mask to ink a one-layer square onto my cardfront. I then removed the mask and added butterflies and sentiments.
Have a great weekend, we’re back all next week with more including Flickr Spotlights on Monday!

I love the way Cathy’s & Jenyfur’s projects are direct opposites of the masking technique – you’ve all made me think about masking in much more detail for I tend to use it very seldom. Thank you again for showing different ways of using a particular technique.

Beautiful, masking is such a “simple” technique but the results are stunning. The sponging part for me is very challenging – BEAUTIFUL work, ladies
These are each wonderful in its own way…beautiful works of art!
Great card, the first one is very striking.
