Designer Spotlight; Cathy Andronicou
Cathy Andronicou
How/when did you begin stamping? When I was a child, I went to a county show. They were demonstrating stamping and embossing and I had to get one to have a go. It was before the days of heat guns and they used a toaster to melt the embossing powder! I wouldn’t recommend you try this now, though!
What is your favorite technique/style? I love experimenting with new techniques and stretching my stamps. (There is a bonus project on my blog today showing just that.)
Which Penny Black product are you most drawn to? It is hard to pick just one product, I love playing with them all, I do find it relaxing just sitting and colouring flowers.
What do you do when you’re in a stamping ‘slump’? I have an inspiration scrapbook, with torn-out pages from magazines, to give me colour ideas, and I also put a few stamps on my desk and just look at them to see what comes to mind.
How would you describe your craft space in three words? A Creative MESS!
What would be your advice to beginner stampers? Don’t waste money on cheap stamps. It is better to spend a bit more and get a quality stamp, that way you will always get a good impression.
Do you have any questions for our readers? What craft tool could you not live without? I have a pair of detail scissors that I just can’t work without!

Thank you so much Janet
I too have a pair of scissors that I am totally ‘lost’ without – in fact I need to have a spare pair ‘just in case’ something dire happens!! Your advice to beginner stampers is absolutely true – that’s why Penny Black images are so good to work with. Love the way you combined so many different stamps for this project.
Paula (PEP)
Paula you are so wise to have a second pair, I lost mine once and bought what I thought was the same brand but alas they were different. So glad I found my original pair. Thank you for your lovely comments and support.
I love seeing Cathy featured today! Amazing card – wow – just look at the coloring and fabulous detail! I’d have to choose my scissors too – I use it on almost every card.
Thanks Barb you are so kind
Hello!
Great card – I love the Halloween season! It was fun to read your profile – your work is lovely! I too have a small curved blades scissors that i could not live without as i love paper piecing! I also use my small adhesive remover all the time – no worry of damaging the cardstock. Wishing you a happy weekend!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
Thanks Barbara Diane, I think the adhesive remover is another must have tool too!

What a spectacular card, Cathy! I love the depth and dimension–frightfully cute! I can’t live without a bottle of UnDu–it’s saved many a card from going into the wastebasket!
