Lovey-dovey from Elizabeth

January 8, 2013

For the next several days, we’ll be featuring projects created with the most recent Penny Black Valentine release – with just a little twist. Our designers will show you a “lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time” project, and another project they’ve made for something else, like birthday or just because (not that those can’t be Lovey-Dovey, too!). Let’s see how versatile our new release can be. . .

Penny Black designer Elizabeth Allan has a flair for creating beautiful cards, like this one featuring Love Blossoms (4293F) and Butterfly Symphony (30-148) as the focal points.

heart sing penny black. . . and phenomenally pretty (and whoa! tremendously detailed!) decor items, like this wood canvas measuring 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″:

This piece uses Love Blossom (4293F) as a background design and the sentiment from Butterfly Symphony (30-148) as a collage element, and also uses Love Flourish (40-186) from the new 2013 Penny Black Valentine collection.

Which one’s YOUR favorite?

The fussy cutting of the hearts with the sprakle of the glitter & the elevation of the panel makes the first rather special & I especially love the way you used the soft pink with the green & gold for matting. The hint of blue beneath the hearts arrests the eye without being obtrusive & gives a suggestion of summer. As for the second – what a contrast in style & execution! The vibrancy of the heart midst all the colours still manages to set it apart & I especially love that tiny little bird – I can just imagine him singing away.

I love the 2nd piece of mixed media art! The colors and all the textures of the stamps just make it pop! Great job. I’m just getting started in mixed media…… so much fun!

Both are fantastic. I love the simplicity of the first one. And the second one is so fun. I love mixed media art and I am sure a lot of thought and love went into this piece. Thanks for sharing.

I love them both, each in their own way. There’s a lot of work in the second one, and I can appreciate that.

Fabulous Creations! I can’t believe you fussy cut the Love Blossoms…so effective. Love the new sentiment. The mixed media piece is real eye-candy, The longer I look, the more detail I find. It is fantastic!
