Alexandra’s Sunday Scrapbook: Background Stamping + Gesso
January 27, 2013

For this week-end’s scrapbooking with Penny Black Inc, Alexandra has a fun tutorial – she’ll show you how to make background paper with stamps and gesso.

I used three stamps to make today’s page: 40-202 Indian Wheel; 30-160 Friendship and 30-161 embellishments

Very useful – I’ve not used Gesso before & this made me realise what I could do with patterned papers that I bought when I first started crafting but have ‘grown out of.’ I love the way these Sunday scrapbooking posts help me to think outside my cardmaking box & broaden my horizons. It’s all about interchange & dialogue.

merci!
Such a fun scrapbook page. I alway enjoy “playing” with paint. Great idea using the background stamp. I don’t use mine as much as I should. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great layout, I have ‘gone back in time’ read a lot of the previous posts on your blog and love your work, but found you here on the Penny Black blog a couple of weeks ago! Love your idea to try stamping with gesso on patterned paper as well! But it works so well on the craft with a little color. Hope to see more of your work here! Thanks for sharing.

This is a wonderful technique and you’ve inspired me to get some gesso. I’ve been thinking about it! I love the watercolor spatters you used on the background paper. The LO is beautiful and I love details, such as the banners! Wonderful!
