How sweet is this all-occasion card by Elizabeth Allan… Elizabeth used a Penny Black background stamp and a fun flag stamp for her greeting;

Guest Designer; Jennifer Rzasa

My name is Jennifer Rzasa, and I’m so exited to be guest designing today! I am a 28 yr old music teacher (1st-5th grade), and live with my husband in MA, about 25 min outside of Boston. I love performing, skateboarding, playing video games, and crafting. I have pretty busy days- after work I often teach private violin/viola/piano lessons, but when I get come home I make sure to save time to play with paper! In addition to my card-making adventures, I also paint (mostly watercolor fashion illustrations), make jewelry, and do pretty much anything else I can get my hands on!

I just loved working with Penny Black stamps! They ink up wonderfully, and the designs are so wonderfully detailed. These new Valentine’s Day stamps are great because they could be used year-round: for love cards, anniversary cards, wedding cards, and more.

We are thrilled to welcome two new Designers to the Penny Black Team. Please say hello to Karen Dunbrook and Cathy Fong!

Hello….I am Karen Dunbrook. I am a married mother of 2 sons and have lived in Ontario, Canada all my life. I have a degree in ECE and taught preschool for many years before starting my own home daycare business. I am pleased to say that I am still going strong after all these years and countless children being welcomed into my home and family.

I have always loved crafting in some capacity or another. I don’t know exactly when I got totally addicted to stamping although I have always stamped as part of an art program I run with my little ones. By the way, they love stamping, too! I get so much joy and satisfaction in creating cards and sending them out. I think I got more involved when I (very hesitantly) started posting on Splitcoast Stampers years ago and then started a Flickr gallery as well. I am thrilled and honoured to be a new member of the Penny Black designing team. They are so talented and inspiring.

Hello. I’m Catherina Fongjoyo a.k.a. Cathy Fong. I live in a small town called Samarinda in Indonesia with my family. I work as a Mandarin teacher at Kindergarten and Primary school. I started card making at the end of 2010 and I really love what I am doing right now. I have made so many friends through blogging and crafting, and it really stretches my creativity to gather inspiration from friends. Brushstrokes with Peet

Today’s card by Peet Roeven is another example of the beautiful things you can do with Penny Black Brushstroke Stamps. Peet created a shaped card using die cuts and ‘fussy-cut’ our “Rose Heart” stamp as her focal point;

SUPPLIES: Stamps: Rose Heart 40-095 & The touch of love 30-089 (sentiment), Paper: Fern Green 05-003 Mix & Match Paper, Embossed Heart EP403, Distress Inks: peeled Green, Barn Door, Victorian Velvet, Spellbinders die, organza ribbon, button, and bling flower.

Stamping with Brushstrokes with Elizabeth

Elizabeth Allan is here today to share a card using our new Brushstroke Stamp, “Rose Heart”. For a decal/sticker effect, the main image, after being colored and trimmed, was pounced with Frost VersaMark Watermark Ink and heat embossed with clear powder. The flowers were accented with glitter and the pleats were secured with glue. Elizabeth added hand-stitching for a visual element.

Brushstroke Stamping with Kathy

Kathy Racoosin is here to share a pair of cards using Penny Black Brushstroke Stamps. The card on the right is a more simple version of the other. Kathy stamped “Hearts All Over” with StazOn Teal Blue ink on white cardstock. She added more color to the hearts by coloring with Copic Markers; R35 R37, V02, V04, BG15, and BG45.

Kathy applied 5 coats of glossy accents to selected hearts. She waited for each coat to dry completely before adding the next layer. She then added a final layer of Crackle Accents. The background sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Clear Embossing powder.

Using a Spellbinders circle die, kathy cut a hole in scrap paper that fit her card base. She stamped on top of the open area with StazOn in teal blue, centering one of the hearts in the open area. After the ink dried, Kathy colored the center heart and some of the areas around the hearts. She again applied Crackle Accents to the heart.
