Forest Friends & Winner!

August 9, 2011

As part of our four-week look at our newest Catalog, Cathy Andronicou is here to share a serene card she created using one of my favorite new Slapstick Stamps from our Christmas 2011 Collection, “Forest Friends” along with a wood-mounted scene, “Berry Red, Snow White“.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see Peet’s take on this weeks nature theme. Now for the winner of last week’s blog card challenge… Congratulations Crimsoncloud! Your beautiful Christmas in July card is just stunning! Please email me at with your choice of a Penny Black transparent set of stamps and we’ll load you up with some Mix & Match Cardstock as well!

Edited to add: Oops! I posted another Christmas in July winner instead of last week’s SPOOKY challenge winner. No worries, we love giving away prize packages at Penny Black! Without further delay, our Spooky challenge winner is Penny Ward with THIS fun and festive shaped card. Congratulations, Penny, please email me with your choice of a Penny Black Transparent set of stamps!

Beautiful cards! I love how the top two stamps work so well together. I shall have to get the wooden stamp as I can see many, many uses for it.

Great card, Cathy! The new stamps I’ve seen are really wonderful! The Christmas card caught my eye as soon as I saw it. Confusing, though, since the Christmas in July winner was already announced & the Halloween cards were due last Sunday. Anyway–nice to have a second winner! I’m a Club Member & would love to win some new stamps!

Cathy sweetie your card is absolutely stunning. I love how you used the 2 stamp sets to make this masterpiece. I am in awe over the layering of deer in the forfront of this beautiful card and the grid image on the note card is such a wonderful addition of texture. You are amazing with your delivery of this card. Hats off to you.

The subtle grid tone on tone background on Cathy’s card picks up the fencing beautifully & provides a lovely co-ordinated compositional background for the deer – lovely piece of designing in terms of layout.
