Effortless Elegance: Heather

April 21, 2014

Our elegant stamps and Creative Dies are a great match for so many styles.  Join our designers this week as they stretch their creative boundaries and create one layer cards! We’d love to see your one layer cards, too!  Upload your Penny Black creations to our Penny Circle Flickr Gallery and/or our Facebook page.

This one-layer watercolor creation by Heather gives a whole new look to our T for Transparent set 30-225 Petal Power.

To create this effect, the stamps were inked in two tones of Memento ink, spritzed, then stamped onto watercolor paper. More color was added and blended with a paintbrush. The same inks were splattered over the panel with a paintbrush and finally a sentiment was added.

Join us tomorrow for more one-layer fun!

The splatters add a lovely touch to the whole fluidity of movement already created with the stamped images. I love the crisp contrast that the sentiment provides.
