Love and Friendship with Amy Sheffer
What better way to celebrate love, friendship, and the upcoming Valentine holiday than with a special guest designer. Please welcome the talented Amy Sheffer to our blog this week as she showcases stamps and dies from our newest release, Love and Friendship!
Hello, everyone! My name is Amy Sheffer, and I am an extreme stamping and card making enthusiast! Penny Black stamps were among the very first in my collection, so I’m especially thrilled to be here this week. I’ve been stamping since the mid-1990s and blogging my creations since 2007. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to design for some really fabulous companies and stores in the industry, and I’ve been honored to see my work published in scrapbooking, card-making, and stamping publications. The very best part of paper crafting is the vast community of fellow enthusiasts! I treasure the connections and friendships I’ve made through stamping! When I’m not paper crafting, I enjoy spending my time with my husband, three children, dog, and cat; reading; photography; volunteering at my kids’ schools; and attempting DIY home projects.
What I love most about Penny Black products is the variety. My style is all over the place, and whether I’m feeling clean-and-simple, layered and embellished, modern or vintage, there’s a Penny Black product that’s just right. I especially love all the floral and nature images!
We can’t wait to share all of your fantastic style this week, Amy!
To create her card, Amy applied Distress Inks (Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint) through our stencil design, 25-002 Flower Dance. Before removing the stencil, she stamped 30-238 Footnotes directly on top of the stencil using Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, allowing the text to only show on the stenciled areas. She added “grass” using the polka dot border from 30-238 Footnotes, added additional inking (Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass) to her background, and stamped her sentiment, 30-269 So Very Much, using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Finally, Amy embellished her card using a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen, sequins, and a cute burlap bow.
What does Amy have in store for us tomorrow? We can’t wait to share!
