As the temps outside begin to rise, here on the blog we are also heating up with designer inspiration! Over the next several weeks our designers will be bringing you inspiration and design ideas featuring their trademark styles and produts from our new collection, Sunshine and Smiles. This week Heather Telford joins us with her artistic stamping!

Our transparent set, 30-298 Enamor, offers a multitude of floral images. You can color them in, cut them out, or add them to a gorgeous watercolor background as Heather has done today!

Here’s the how-to:

Step 1 Tape a piece of hot pressed watercolor paper to a firm surface on all four sides. Soak the paper with water then drop watercolor paint (Gansai Tambi) onto the wet surface. Tilt the paper so the paint can blend and spread. Sprinkle salt crystals on wet paint then leave to dry completely. Remove salt.

Step 2 Stamp flower stamp from ‘Enamor’ set in colors which coordinate with paint (Picked Raspberry and Pine Needles Distress Ink).

heather7

Step 3 Spritz stamped image with water so image blurs and bleeds. Let dry then trim to desired size.

heather8

Step 4 Trim watercolored panel into two pieces. Stamp same floral stamp over first imprints in black ink. Stamp outline flower stamp from ‘Enamor’ set in black ink several times on unstamped watercoloured panel.

Finished Cards Trim both stamped pieces, mat with black cardstock and pop up on white card bases. Add sentiments in black from ‘A Sweet Day’ transparent set.

Simple, pretty, and a great reason to get our your floral stamps and watercolors… and play!
