Stamping Plus a Touch of Pattern: Day 4

September 18, 2015

Looking for a fun way to incorporate pattern papers with your stamping? Designer Elizabeth Allan joins us this week with a feature to help you do just that. She’s grabbed her designer papers and favorite new cling stamps for a week of…

The traditional beauty of our Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-405 Holly Tweet, takes center stage on Elizabeth’s final “stamping plus a touch of pattern” creation.

How-To: Today Elizabeth’s “touch of pattern” is along the top of her card.  She’s paired two of our designer paper pads, 80-010 Coco Style and 80-008 Gentle Whisper, to create two neutral bands of pattern at the top of her card.  A small strip of red cardstock along the bottom of her card balances her overall design.  To create her watercolor bird and branch (40-405 Holly Tweet) she stamped her image using a light ink color and then painted it with watercolors and pastel pencils.  Once dry, she fussy cut the image and adhered it to her card using dimensional foam adhesive.

This made me gasp out loud! The touch of designer paper on each card this week was just the right touch to change the cards from ordinary to extraordinary. I plan to incorporate this lesson in my Christmas cards! Thanks, Elizabeth for an amazing week.

This might be my favorite of the week, Elizabeth–LOVE this card! The 2 papers together is such a great look & the little red strip at the bottom is so perfect but most people wouldn’t have thought to do that! Thanks for the inspiration all week!
