Do you love the beautiful snowy accents that add dimension and depth to Mimi’s watercolor? That leads us to Mimi’s third watercolor tip…

embellishing-with-dimensional-snow

Mimi embellishes her card design using coarse embossing powder. Because coarse embossing powder can be difficult to find, Mimi created her own using fine embossing powder. On an acrylic pad she sprayed extra strong hairspray and put some fine embossing powder on the liquid (hairspray).

She let it dry. Using an Exacto knife, she broke it up into the size she wanted for the snow. On this card she used both white and gold embossing powder, carefully placing it on the scene and heating it with a heat gun to adhere/melt it.
