Don’t you love it when one stamp can be used multiple ways? Today Birgit is exploring the possibilities with our Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-501 On the Lake.

40-501

For her first card, she’s given the stamping a watercolor look. This pairs perfectly with her nature-themed deer embellishments.

Birgit first stamped the background (40-501 On the Lake) with water soluable ink.  When painting colors onto background, she allowed some water to “touch” the stamped areas causing the stamping to blend and bleed.  Once dry, she stamped the sentiment (30-387 Festive Snippets).  Next, she stamped and die cut two deer (51-282 Cuddly Winter, 30-378 Cuddly Joy).  She colored the deer with Distress Inks using an ink blending tool and foam pad.  She used white paint to color the spots on the deer.

For her second card, Birgit kept her background stamping crisp and clean. She stamped the background scene (40-501 On the Lake) with permanent black ink.  Once dry, she added background colors with watercolor paints.  She matted this panel with black cardstock and adhered it to the notecard.  She stamped the chilly friend (30-390 Let’s Chill), painted the image, and then fussy-cut it out.  She applied the Snow Writer from DecoArt to the coat and hat for extra snowy dimension.  Finally, she adhered the character to the card using dimensional adhesive.

Love the “fur” on the little girls coat. Love that little girl. Her expression and posture are perfect for a breezy, wintery day. The background is so pretty.
