CELEBRATE with Birgit Edblom

April 24, 2017

Our brand new collection, CELEBRATE, is now available in our online store. This week we’re celebrating with the one-of-a-kind Birgit Edblom as she features our new stamps and dies on her beautiful cards.

We kick off our celebration with Birgit with this beautiful mini card (4 x 4 inch) and gift bag.

She’s created her vintage and golden design using the following stamps: 40-509 Full of Glee and 30-432 Hope Shines.

Tips/Techniques: Color floral stamp (40-509 Full of Glee) with Neocolor II Aquarelle Watercolor Artists’ Crayons, mist with water, and then stamp. Paint background and add shading to flowers using Daler Rowney Watercolors. Add white highlights to flowers using Gesso or watered down/diluted white acrylic paint. Stamp sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Tips/Techniques: Take your stamping off the card and onto a 3D project. A google search will reveal many 3D patterns in order to find a bag or box construction that best suits your needs. Just do your stamping first and then follow the pattern to assemble your one-of-a-kind packaging.

Next, Birgit used the same stamps and techniques, but altered her color scheme for a completely different look.

Tips/Techniques: Color floral stamp (40-509 Full of Glee) with Neocolor II Aquarelle Watercolor Artists’ Crayons, mist with water, and then stamp. Paint background and add blending to flowers using Daler Rowney Watercolors. Stamp sentiment (30-432 Hope Shines) with waterproof ink such as Versafine Onyx Black ink, and color in the word ‘love’ using a watercolor pencil. Add subtle background stamping, only inking small portions of the text stamp (30-238 Footnotes) with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

I love all of Birgit’s creations, but I have yet to see what kind of card stock or water color paper Birgit uses. It is never mentioned. These new stamps are gorgeous.
