Penny and Penny: Exploring Bible Journaling

May 5, 2017

Hi creative friends! Today we are excited to announce a new Fun Friday feature! Once a month, Penny Ward will be joining us with her inspiring and gorgeous Bible journaling pages featuring our products! You can read more about Penny and her Bible journaling tips HERE. We love her approach to Bible journaling: “I journal in a Bible to show my love of God and particular scripture most of the time. God gave me the crafty gene and I am showing him what He gave me. I am sure He loves it in His book no less. I also have a second Bible for reading.” So whether you are new to Bible journaling or a card-maker looking for stamping ideas and techniques, we welcome both you and Penny as we kick off this EXTRA fun Friday with our fabulous friend.

For Penny’s beautiful-in-blue Bible journaling page she has featured two elegant stamps: a verse from 30-406 All Great Things and 40-537 Peony.

If you are hesitant to stamp directly into your Bible, Penny’s page today provides extra inspiration! Penny has eliminated the fear of working directly onto the page by stamping on vellum and then adhering the vellum inside of her bible with removeable washi tape. What a great alternative!

The torn edges of the vellum also provide texture and beauty to the overall design. Additionally, this technique can be used with card-making. Instead of adhering the stamped vellum to a Bible page, layer it on top of a notecard. And don’t forget to try different colored notecards or even pattern paper for a variety of different looks.

One more thing… TGIF!

I’m guessing it is a thin vellum? Very pretty effect.

Oh, Penny, this is gorgeous! I love how you’ve used the vellum and adhere the page with washi tape. I have never been comfortable journaling directly in my Bible other than my own notes in pencil. So this is a wonderful idea…and a beautiful one! I have the three Scripture sets and now downloaded the instructions. Thanks…and blessings! Hugs!
