A Good Friend…

May 29, 2018

Over the next several weeks our designers and crafty friends will be joining us to share their creations featuring our newest collection of stamps and Creative Dies, Nature’s Art.

Today Birgit Edblom brings us some CUTE inspiration!

Birgit stamped and painted the sweet little girl from our miniature 3 x 4 inch transparent set, 30-486 A Good Friend.

A simple watercolor background and a die cut birch tree (51-270 Beneath the Birches) instantly finish off this card and create a soft, subtle scene.

Birgit’s Watercolor Design Details: To create her watercolor cards, Birgit uses Waterford High White HP watercolor paper. For stamped outline-style images, she stamps them using Archival ink and then paints them in. If they are fussy cut, she often applies a light layer of Distress Ink around the outer edges using an ink blending tool and a foam pad, after the image has been cut out. Her die cut pieces are also cut from Waterford High White HP watercolor paper. Her images and die cuts are painted with Daniel Smith watercolors. For some cards, to add white highlights to the stamped or die cut images, she uses a white gel pen.
