Foam Shadow Stamping

October 26, 2010
by

Ready for another stamping tutorial? I love this one by Angela Kennedy and can’t wait to give it a try…every project will result in a unique effect when stamping with foam! Angela used Penny Black’s “Sparklers” stamp for her card today.

In addition to glossy cardstock and a small water spritzing bottle, you’ll need Cut n Dry Foam by Ranger for this project;

To color the foam, you can use brush markers;

Trim the foam to the size you want for your project. You will be coloring on the gray side.

Color your foam piece with markers being sure to overlap the colors so that your transfer will blend nicely.

Spritz the foam with water and stamp. It takes a little practice in spritzing the right amount of water. Keep a towel close by so you can blot any excess water away after you stamp.

Angela was able to stamp three times before re-spritzing her foam.

Once it dries, you can stamp your focal image and sentiment!

TIPS: Make sure that you dry the foam before re-inking. This technique can be done on any paper.The foam can be washed and reused quite a few times. Only wash the gray side with dishsoap and rinse. Squeeze between paper towels to dry.

Thank you, Angela!  We’ll do this again tomorrow so be sure to stop by.  I’ll be walking you through creating a stamped chipboard ornament, step by step!

    This is a new technique for me Angela and I also can’t wait to give it a try. This is wonderful for smaller images too and then to cut them out for a watercolor look…and so easily. Thanks as always for the inspiration. Hugs,Kathy
