Eat Cake and Be Merry

March 28, 2011
by

Welcome to the Penny Black Blog! We have a full week of brand new cards using stamps from our latest release along with a card challenge and giveaway. Today’s card features a focal image from one of my favorite transparent sets, “Eat Cake“;

I used our large, wood-mounted background stamp, “Scroll Tapestry”, for the bottom strip. I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it with white.

I used cardstock from Penny Black’s new Mix & Match collection — our “Blue Lagoon” trio;

Once you get your hands on Penny Black Mix & Match cardstock, you’ll never use anything else… The rich colors, heavy feel, and white core are perfect for all of your paper crafting projects. You can purchase our cardstock packs in our online store by clicking HERE. Speaking of Mix & Match Trios – I’m in the mood for a giveaway! If you’d like to win a packet of our Blue Lagoon Cardstock (and we’ll throw in a few more color combinations!), just leave a comment on this post. Be sure to stop by all week long as I’ll be giving away Penny Black cardstock every day!

Did you know that we recently emailed our latest Newsletter to our Club Members? It included a sneak peek at two new transparent stamp sets! Our club members were the first to see what’s on the horizon at Penny Black. Our Newsletter also included a card tutorial. It’s not too late to sign up and receive the Newsletter — just click on “Join the Club” at the top of the blog enter your email address.

    I love the fact that the card stock is white on the other side, it is great for making card blanks and can be sanded to give a distressed effect. Such a sweet clear set and your card just makes me chuckle…just seeing that icing all over the other mouses face…too cute!

  17. March 28, 2011 5:56 am

    Sounds like a fun challenge! Would love to win some of those papers, too!

  18. March 28, 2011 5:57 am

    I’m thrilled to see the new cardstock – the fact that it’s possible to colour match within the same colour but with different gradations is brilliant & the fact that the inside is white means that the inside can be stamped on easily. Delightful how the the gingham ribbon picks up the colour of the icing is so effective & the look on the mouse’s face just delightful.
    Looking forward to this challenge – lots of ideas brewing, just time to play required.
