Hello Friends! This week-end, Alexandra is using slapstick Penny Black Inc.#40-201 “roman surround” and bleach to create a faux-Batik effect paper.

Great technique, I have tried this with a small stamp before but not with a large background stamp.

The bleach technique is always an intriguing one because you never really know what colour is going to emerge from your paper. Like the variety of colours you used.

I’ve used this technique before after using acrylic paint to cover my paper but never directly on cardstock. I like the way Alexandra’s turned out and the use of it on scrapbook pages. Can’t wait to try it.

I have tried the bleach technique on individual card designs, but had not thought to try it on a scrapbook page. I especially like the idea of stamping the information pocket. Excellent presentation………….Thanks!
What a neat technique. I’ve done it with some small stamps, but it’s so impressive with the background stamp here. For those worried about putting bleach on your stamps, rinse well and pat dry, then use White Vinegar to neutralize/cut the bleach.

I tried the bleach technique once before and did not get the results you did. I will have to try it again using your instructions. I like the look.
I’ve used bleach in this way but never with a background stamp. I have several neat PB backgrounds, so will give it a try.

I’m impressed love the bleach technique. I love batiks in quilts and this technique will be a good way to show off some of the quilt pictures I take.
