Ready to create this look yourself?
Here’s how:

1) Mask off a rectangle in the center of the card. Add Memento Inks to an acrylic block, spritz with water and add colors randomly to paper to create background.

2) Ink Poppy Parade with Rhubarb Stalk and Bamboo Leaves markers spritz with water stamp and color using pens adding water to blend and spread design.

3) When dry re-ink stamp with markers again and stamp onto project without adding water (this will give flower definition). Stamp sentiment from Kind Words set using Versafine ink, highlight the centres of the flowers with the IrRESISTible Pico embellisher, flick walnut ink over design to age and then remove masking tape to reveal finished card.

I love the way the walnut ink echoes the deep burgundy of the poppies & the whole design pops with the use of the reds & greens. The background provides a lovely loose foil with those hints of aqua included – a very striking piece indeed.

Lovely! But I’m wondering what markers you used? You mentioned color names, but not brand name.
    Thanks!

I appreciate your directions. I never considered doing a final stamping to give definition, but it makes perfect sense! This is really stunning.
