Brushstrokes with Birgit

February 19, 2018

Over the next several weeks our designers and crafty friends will be joining us to share their creations featuring our newest collection of stamps and Creative Dies, Sweet Spring.

This week we welcome the talented Birgit Edblom.

Today Birgit has her hands on two of our brushstroke stamps. For her first card, she is getting inky with 40-598 Becoming.

By stamping onto textured cardstock with a watercolor medium, Birgit has given her card a special, almost fabric-like, design.

Design Details: Birgit inked her flowers with Caran D’Ache Neocolors, lightly misted with water, and stamped onto textured cardstock from Paper Accent. Once dry, she sponged green and blue Distress Inks onto the background and also lightly stamped the background grasses using Distress Ink. Making sure all inks were dry, Birgit then stamped her sentiment with VersaMark ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder, and heat to set.

Birgit’s second card features this same technique, the only change is her choice of focal point stamp. For this card she’s featured our Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-588 Blossom Branch.

Design Details: See technique described above.

Two lovely cards! I like that Becoming is dramatic and makes a perfect vocal point, and Blossom Branch can be used in many ways. Adding one to my list. Lovely work, Birgit, thank you!

This makes me feel better. She lost all her details on her card. That is what happens to mine too.
