Simple Stamping Day 3; Twinkle Tags

Hello and welcome back! I have a set of holiday gift tags to share today. Every year I create several Christmas tags for my own use, to swap with my crafty sisters, and to use as small gifts. I used a new Transparent Set; “Let It Snow “. It was perfect for the simple stamping technique I had in mind — one layer stamping and the ‘assembly line method’.

I employed the ‘assembly line method’ when making these tags. I started by applying 4 pigment ink colors directly to my stamp from mimi ink pads. I then misted my stamp once and stamped the image onto pre-cut pieces of white cardstock;

I used pigemnt inks because they contain a vibrant and deep color, and they mist with water wonderfully.

Once my stamped pieces were dry, I stamped “Twinkle” in black on top of the images. I created a one-layer stamped piece…no fussy cutting or coloring. I also added a gemstone to the tops of the trees.

I added a bit of ribbon to the backs of the stamped pieces then matted and mounted them with foam tape onto black;

I have another simple stamping project for you tomorrow, stay tuned! Be sure to enter YOUR simply stamped project into our Gallery for a chance to win Penny Black stamps. For details, see Monday’s post.

    I love the way that little gem at the top of the tree picks up the blue from the bottom part of the tree: there’s a sort of topping & tailing symmetry in play especially when you take into account those white spots on the bottom layer.

    I am curious as to why you’d mist an oil based ink… unless the misting moves the oil to the top and moves the ink around.

    The tags are fabulous 😀
