Penny Black Pinspiration 2

October 19, 2012

Good morning, and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Penny Black designers have found some FUN color inspiration on Pinterest this week!  Check out some of our Pinterest-inspired projects here, and then try it yourself – post a link to your inspiration and to your finished card. We’d love to see what you can do!

Karen took the citrus hues of this Pinterest image and went wild with her Distress inks.

“I created the background by inking my acrylic block with Distress inks…just rubbed yellow, orange and a bit of green and pink onto the block, sprayed with water and stamped.  When it was dry, I stamped over using the All You Need Product #40-092 stamp in orange and green.  I then stamped the sentiment from Gratitude Product #30-105 and mounted that piece with the Mix and Match paper and then onto an embossed background using a Sizzix folder.”

Heather used a little leaf punch to create a mask, then sponged ink onto the panel to create a look reminiscent of the leaves on the Pinterest pin. She used Wishing You  Cardstock: Mix & Match Paper Fall Festival & Olive Grove.

Peet was inspired by these lovely flowers to create this shaped card with Gift of Love & Winter Magic (sentiment):

Angela used  Butterfly Kiss 4233k and Inspiring 40-113 on her happy card.

Cathy F found inspiration in the Robin’s egg hues:

Supplies : Penny Black Les Petites Chestnut Creme, Madison Paper Pads, A wish for peace, Mimi’s Winter Friends

Cathy was inspired by the bright summery shades and decided to find an equivalent for each one in Prisma Color pencils.  Here is her swatch of the corresponding colours.

These samples really show how constructive Pinterest can be when it comes to putting colours together. It’s like a visual guide exciting one to pick up colours & dabble.
