Even more Bible journaling and cardmaking with Penny… YAY!

March 22, 2017

Our newest collection, BLISS 2017, includes a collection of stamps perfectly suited for Bible journaling: 30-409 Faith, 30-403 Delicate Garden, 30-406 All Great Things, 30-405 This Way, 30-404 Spiritual Snippets. This week we welcome a spectacular guest designer, Penny Ward, as she features these new stamps on her fabulous pages and cards!

This page by Penny is the epitome of soft, delicate, and beautiful. She’s featured a sentiment from our transparent set, 30-409 Faith.

Penny also stamped our Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-543 First Blush, to create a beautiful border on her page.

Not only do Penny’s pages feature stamping, but she also incorporates Creative Dies into her artwork. (51-278 Peaceful Wishes and 51-319 Bookmark Tab)

Today’s bonus project brings a stamped verse (30-409 Faith) to a card design, the perfect way to brighten a friend’s day.

And we just love how Penny has stamped and embossed our Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-508 Gladsome, in white on kraft cardstock. So striking!

I have just started Bible journaling and your examples really inspire me!!! Thank you. Do you gesso your pages before you color them? (also the PB stamps are the BEST!)

Thanks for your comment, Kay, and for stopping by! Penny did not gesso the Bible journaling pages she is sharing with us this week but she has tried clear gesso and recommends that if one is concerned about the color bleeding through. Guess I don’t understand journaling in a Bible. It makes the pages unreadable, and isn’t that what a bible is for?

Though I’m not into Bible journaling, I love these scripture stamps! Penny’s Bible journaling is beautiful and I love this card.

This is really lovely. I have a journaling Bible, but I am afraid to do anything to it beside color inside the front cover because I am afraid I am going to ruin the pages. When you stamp in it, doesn’t it show through to the other side of the page? Is there a way to prevent that?

Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comment! You may enjoy Penny’s Bible Journaling tips as she discusses painting a layer of clear gesso on the page first to help avoid bleeding onto the other side of the page.
