Fly Away with this Butterfly Trio

June 20, 2017

It’s time for a poetic party and you’re invited! This week join Peet Roeven as she explores the range of possibilities available with our newest collection, Poetic.

One can’t help but think happy thoughts when they gaze upon this card from Peet. She’s combined our Creative Die, 51-306 Butterfly Trio, with flowers from our Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-518 Potted Flowers.

Because the details of the wings on this Creative Die are open, it’s perfect for layering over a stamped and colored design. It’s such fun to see the brightly colored flowers peeking through the wings!

Peet began by creating her background with Distress Oxide ink.

Next, Peet die cut 51-306 Butterfly Trio from white cardstock. She also stamped, colored, and cut out her flowers and butterflies. By fussy cutting the flowers right out of their pots, she’s stretched this stamp and given it a whole new look.

Peet added her sentiment (30-416 Happy Thoughts), flowers, and trademark stitching before layering her main panel onto metallic paper.

You can see how her last step of adding 51-306 Butterfly Trio balanced out the entire design.

And don’t forget, it’s Tuesday and that means…
